My Favorite Picture
This is my favorite picture on my phone currently of my cats Sol y Luna. I love this picture since it is of my two favorite girls snuggling together. It shows their sibling love for each other. It is was bittersweet seeing them cuddled up on a couch on a Friday morning, just days before I moved to school. It gave me a sense of reassurance that they’d be just alright without me; They’ll have each other to keep company. It was one of the final days I truly had time to spend with them. This is a good memory I like to look back to of my summer at home with them.
This image is somewhat artistic in my mind, it could be because it has sentiment and memory, but I now see there is more to it. For example The picture carries great contrast; The background is warm tones of yellows, oranges, reds, and browns. While on the contrary Sol y Luna are black and white, plain, simple, and colorless. The background is also full of shapes and patterns, like lines, rectangles, circles, and squares. The cats on the other hand are just oddly shaped lumps, with no real structure to them other than their triangular ears and noses. To add the picture is repetitive, there is a pattern of lines, dots, square and rectangles, and a pair of cats. Along with this there is a consistent theme of warm colors ranging from yellow to red. Continuing on the very alignment of the cats is dead center. This is the main focus of the picture, grabbing your attention from looking anywhere else. Attention is also drawn with the cats meeting your gaze. It adds a feeling as they see you as much as you see them. Lastly the proximity gives just enough detail without overwhelming the picture. You are close enough to feel up close and personal; Though far enough to not come between the two.
The prominent features are Sol y Luna and the couch. It is also prominent that this took place in a home. The elements, that being the couch and the pillow, are arranged in a slanted or tilted manner. While the clear shot is the cats on center. I believe this takes a meaning, of love, togetherness/unity, and sense of peace. It is a somewhat special private moment captured of the love and care for one another being shared. I hope you (the reader) sees this as such, and it helps you look back to a special moment you either experienced or caught sight of that gave the same emotion as this did.
